Deathy Hallows
Just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sometime yesterday. I didn't get a chance to post about it until now.

When I went to pick up my book at Barnes and Nobles at midnight on Friday, the place was a madhouse. I think it was a bit disorganized at first, but I think once midnight came, the process of people getting the book got better. I received my book just before 12:30 am, and then went back, took a shower, and started reading it.

This is just something of a first impressions kind of thing, so I won't go into too much detail. Overall, I loved the book. I'm not disappointed at all. With one tiny exception: the epilogue. I mean, it's just ridiculous! What's with naming kids after parents? Also, Albus Severus? I dunno, to me, the epilogue didn't really need to be there.

After all this, I'm a bit sad. I mean, I'm very glad to read the final book of Harry Potter, but that's just it. It's the final book. There won't be any excitement of speculating what's going to happen in the next book. I'm just sad that there is no next book. Part of me always gets excited as I wait to read the next HP book. I knew it had to come to an end. But I thought it was good end. (Well, except for the epilogue.)

Will probably post more of my thoughts on the book later!

It is said that 70% of the fans enojoyed the book while the other remaining 30% didn't. Weird statistic.

I think the epilogue was downright silly aswell.

I remember reading so-called spoilers before the book was released that Ron would die. LoL. I guess he didn't.

I thought the epilogue wasn't satisfying enough. I went onto the leakycauldron.com and read the interview with J.K. Rowling in which she writes a lot more about what happens to the characters, their careers etc and found "closure" by reading THAT ;)

Naming the son and daughter Lily and James was a little strange, too, I thought at first; but, I liked the Albus Severus name - that was a nice touch in my opinion because it showed how much those 2 people had meant to Harry in the end that he'd name one of his sons after both.

When seen in that light, I think it made sense why he'd name his children after the parents he wished he'd known and loved. It was Rowling's way of letting Harry honour the people who had died and allow the memory of their lives and significance to live on in the names of his children.

Just my thoughts ;)
